India : A camel has a go at its owner - Pushkar Camel Fair, Rajasthan
Let's be frank : technically, this ain't the best photograph one can make. Not by far! I mean, just look at it. It's obvious that the shutter speed was way too slow to freeze the action that took place in a split second; the instant when this camel turned on it's owner in a fit of fury. Camels do that a lot, you know - spit, snarl, kick... but that's a story for another day; for now, let's get back to this image, shall we?
So, where were we? Ah yes, shutter speed way too slow to freeze the instant. The result - obvious movement visible in both the camel as
well as its handler. Bad, simply bad. Or, is it???
To me, this image is all about action. All about the moment. A split second in time when the camel turned on its owner and the owner reacted by shirking back. And I think the motion blur only accentuates the action of the moment, doesn't it?
Sometimes, bad can be good. It just depends on the message that is conveyed by the image. Keep that in mind before deleting your next shot coz it ain't "technically perfect"
